In you opinion, which iPod do you think is the best (I don't care about music videos)? How can I download songs onto an iPod? Which way is the cheapest (even if it's not exactly legal)?

I want to find something less than $150.

iPod will not work with any other site. You must download iTunes and buy your songs from there. Or you can transfer your CDs onto the computer and then put it on the iPod. There are many places you can get CDs for free.

The iPod I have is the 30GB with video. Its cool because on the apple site they have free movie trailers that you can download and watch on your iPod!

Good luck! I'm happy with mine!

Well i think for the money (especially if you don't care about video) the maxed out version of the Nano is cost effective, comes in a variety of colors and is small enough to fit just about anywhere. It has all that while still having a great amount of memory at a pretty reasonable cost. As with any ipod i recommend getting a case because they all scratch easeally.

As for getting the music it doesn't really matter as long as its in MP3 format. For pay sites its all pretty much the same and the price is usually about even. Keep in mind though that music downloaded form the itunes music store will only play on an ipod. As for the "free" download sights I've all but stopped using them due to the fact that viruses are a real problem on them. You never really know what your downloading until its too late. However when i have used them i had pretty decent luck with Limewire and Bearshare.

As for softwear to get the music on the ipod there is only one choice: itunes. its free download from apple. its designed for the ipod and works perfectly. it excepts all music and lets you rip/burn your cd's no problem. I have never seen anyone be able to work an ipod properly without using itunes.

The iPod video is probably the best deal. When you compare it to the nano and shuffle, it holds more songs, and also holds videos and photos. The shuffle doesn't have a screen to tell you which song or artist is playing. It may be good for exercising, but it goes for almost $100. The prices for the iPod video and the 8GB nano(which holds the most out of all the nanos) are the same. They are both $249. So why not get the one with more features?

You can download songs from limewire, bearshare, the artist's website, your friends, etc. You need itunes first. For limewire, you download all the songs you want first. Then when you open itunes, you go to the File tab, and click Add folder to Library. Find your limewire Folder and click ok. All your songs should be uploaded to your itunes library. All of these downloading websites are free.

If you don't care about music videos, then I'd get an iPod nano. They can't do music videos but they can hold pictures, games, podcasts, contacts, and about 500 songs. I have one and I like it a lot better than my old shuffle. You have to install iTunes to download songs onto an iPod, and they cost about 99 cents. I don't know how to steal music, sorry. :-)

"Best" is a relative term. How much do you want to spend? How small does it have to be? If you want something very small, then get a Nano. If money is no object, then get a 60Gig iPod.

You get songs (and videos) on an iPod through iTunes. The process is called syncing.

first of all by the original ipod. although it looks big compared to everything else now it has a looot of song space. for downloading i suggest limewire, morpheus or soulseek once the file you downloaded is 100% complete drag and drop into a playlist on itunes. then once you plug in your ipod you can listen to the song

I have a 30g video ipod that I love because I can store photographs, movies, songs, and games on it. I think it's really fun. You can download songs from iTunes but they cost $0.99... there are also FREE music downloads on cnet.com but they don't have that many artists.
