You will be attracted to both sexes, have many conflicting thoughts going round your brain.
Some cases are you generally like one sex more than the other, and sometimes that preference can swap and change, so today you have a day where you are really checking out men, and woman the next day. But most times it isn't that flippant.
Sexuality isn't always a fluent thing, try not to question all to much, try things out, kiss (or whatever) with both sex's, listen to your thoughts and feelings when you are doing so. How does your stomach feel, are you excited etc. If you find yourself having fun (sexually), being mentally or physically attracted to the same sex as yourself.....then you are most likely not heterosexual.
Have you had crushes on both sexes? Infatuations? Try answer some questions like that, just in your own head, what feelings have you had for which sexes.
Have fun and try things out, talk to other bisexuals. But try not to stress to much, you will figure it out in time, and most cases it does take a while to become comfortable with your sexuality, that certainly isn't an over night thing, it can take years.

What differentiates a bisexual from a homosexual or heterosexual is that they cannot deny their feelings for either gender - irrespective of which one they prefer. No matter how hard one may try to conform to a gay or straight category, they simply cannot deny their "other side" - it hurts when they try to suppress it.
One good way of visualing where the biggest difference lies is to envision a homosexual member of your own gender being presented with the opportunity to date the person of the opposite gender who you consider to be the most attractive. The homosexual will turn it down on the grounds that they're not attracted at all to the opposite gender. Meanwhile, you'll be sitting there wondering "how on earth can x not find y attractive?!!"
Another thing is when a bisexual person talks to a group of homosexuals of their own gender. When discussing feelings and attractions, there are some fundamental differences - and sometimes arguments!!

1. At some level, you are attracted sexually to not only the opposite sex but the same sex as well. (And it doesn't have to be a a 50/50 attraction either -- equally attracted to both sexes. Most bisexuals are attracted more to one sex than the other.)
2. You know you are different than straight people but also different than gay people.
3. You don't feel at ease in either the straight or gay worlds, culturally even, and may attempt to fit into either world by keeping your true orientation secret.
4. Homosexual people tend to notice and to accept their sexual orientation much earlier than a bisexual person.
5. A homosexual person is far more likely to "come out" far earlier than a bisexual person.
*** The overall, most defining fact is that you know for a fact that you are sexually attracted to and aroused by both sexes -- and you remain like this over time. You may tell yourself you are going through a stage (like in your teenage years) but those feelings do not go away as you reach adulthood.

You don't feel the need to limit yourself to (a) partner(s) of only one gender. That is:
You can look at someone and think "Wow! (S)He's hot! I'd like to do him/her!"
Some stop at the physical with one gender, loving only the other. Others (so called, "True" bisexuals) can also love either gender - but we're a rarer breed.

If you find both woman and men attractive of course.
Experiment. Go to a gay bar and see what you think.
Buy gay mags and see how they make you feel or maybe visit a few gay web sites. there's loads of 'in your face' methods out there.
You'll never know unless you dive in. There's no sence in just wondering and considering doing things to find out.
Grab the bull by the horns and get out there.

There are no hard and fast rules about how one realizes the truth about their own sexuality. However, one good clue might be if you spend a good deal of time sexually fantasizing about people of your gender as well as those of the other.
