19 th Street in the Heights is cool, lots of little shops to wander in & out of.
The zoo has neat gardens and Miller Theater next to it has free live shows. Pack a picnic. Then you can stash your stuff in the car and walk over to the rose garden and the museum district. That's a day's worth.
Galleria to shop and peoplewatch
Galveston - lots to do and see

The Galleria is a 1st class, world-famous place to visit. Even if you're not a big shopper, there's cool stuff to see and eat and do.

The Houston Museum of Natural Science has some laser shows on Friday and Saturday nites. Those are cool. When Baseball gets underway, Minute Maid Park is super. There's a nice place called The Men's Club, where one can gaze upon the bare breasts of young Christian women.

If you are into museums, they are really good. Go down to Galveston. The shopping is good too.
