Lol I've had this argument with my boyf many times and have just got off my backside to find the answer for you! The answer is no but you can still damage your skin:
"Glass blocks UV-B rays, and those are the ones that cause sunburn. However, unless it's specially coated or tinted, glass does not block UV-A rays, and those are the rays that penetrate deeper and can cause skin damage, possibly even skin cancer. Since you don't burn through the glass you don't realize anything is going on. In short, you don't get burned, but the UV-A rays damage your skin without your knowing it for a long time. In fact, some specialists advise you to wear sunscreen if you're going to be driving in most of North America for more than about twenty minutes, and even less than twenty in the southern states". Hope this helps!

Some ultraviolet rays can pass through car window glass, although most of the burning (as opposed to tanning) rays can't. Ultraviolet light, which causes both erythema (sunburn) and tanning, ranges in wavelength from 4,000 angstrom units (A) down to about 100 A. (Light with wavelength greater than 4,000 A lies in the visible spectrum.) The most potent rays for burning and tanning lie in the 2,900-3,050-A range, with radiation of 2,967 A supposedly being most effective of all.

Ordinary window glass, however, is pretty much opaque to wavelengths below 3,000 A. From this we deduce that the intervention of a window will significantly reduce but not halt the burning/tanning process.

it depends on the glass- clear glass- yes, you definitely can burn. Polarized glass with UV protection should not allow the suns harmful ultraviolet rays through and should result in no burning.

no, uv is what gives you sun burn and it can not penetrate glass

you can buy beads that show colour when uv shines on them, if you go inside even though light from outside shines through the windows the beads lose there colour.

Yes, the ultra violet rays penetrate through glass. That’s why you should wear sunscreen all year.

Yup...unless it is UV (ultraviolet) protected...and unless its polarized...and unless your skin lacks melonin...other than that I cant think of anything else that would affect it.
