Is It Raining Aliens?
Nearly 50 tons of mysterious red particles showered India in 2001. Now the race is on to figure out what the heck they are
By Jebediah Reed | June 2006
Courtesy Dr. Godfrey Louis
E.T. Under the Microscope: Scientists have yet to identify the unusual particles [above, magnified 500 times] isolated from India’s mysterious red rainwater.
As bizarre as it may seem, the sample jars brimming with cloudy, reddish rainwater in Godfrey Louis’s laboratory in southern India may hold, well, aliens. In April, Louis, a solid-state physicist at Mahatma Gandhi University, published a paper in the prestigious peer-reviewed journal Astrophysics and Space Science in which he hypothesizes that the samples—water taken from the mysterious blood-colored showers that fell sporadically across Louis’s home state of Kerala in the summer of 2001—contain microbes from outer space.
cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actual Rains of Blood
Have there ever been actual rains of blood? We have on file numerous cases in which blood was believed to have showered from the skies, but there are only a few in which the substance was analyzed and turned out to be blood.
One such case occurred on May 15, 1890,in Messignadi, Calabria and was described in Popular Science News (35: p.104). A blood rain was identified by the Italian Meteorological Bureau as bird's blood. The explanation proposed by the Italian Meteorological Bureau was that "migratory birds...were caught and torn in a violent wind." There was no mention that there was in fact a violent wind at the time and no bird or part of a bird was seen to have fallen--only blood.
On August 1, 1869, a three minute shower of flesh and blood fell from the sky onto the farm of J. Hudson in Los Nietos Township, California. The materials that fell covered several acres, the conventional explanation being that sloppy buzzards flying overhead were the source of the rain of gore.
Hope that helps you...

This happens. Dust can blow in over an area and when the temp or pressure changest it rains and the dust colors the rain. It can even be normal, then red, then normal again like you described.

living in the country is quite an experience there are things happening without no explanation listen to this
it is my experienced it was school holiday and i stay in the country they are my relative place every night they go fishing by group if there is a storm they stay home that night the weather is fine so they go fishing i was by my self and about midnight i heard my uncle voice he called me out by the name and said
GET OUT OF HERE i ran out side and i thought they dont go fishing ,,,,nothing still by my self and the closest house is about700 meters ,,,,
we ran out of food so i go to the town to buy food it is about 2 kilometers there is no transport so i walked i buy some sardines and dry food and i put it in my back pack and 3 kilos of rice which im holding in my arm in front of me it is already dark but the glow of the moon helps me to see the way in about 1 kilometer there is no electricity along the way so no light i notice a light or a torch in a distance i keep on walking but the speed of the man carrying the light is fast as if it is floating few meters away i see a man with a torch and he is floating he go straight at me and i feel the impact and my rice flew every where but there is no man and there is no light i go home and tell to my relatives about my experienced and they said they are like us but not like us and saide dont worry about it
this is true experience,,,

Easy when you blink the inside of your eyelids are red but usually it is too dark to see but as lightning flashed you both blinked and the after image of bright, sudden red discolored you vision for a few seconds.

Since it didn't remain my best guess is a trick of the light. It could also be pollen or even pollution mixed with the rain.
I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

well of corse youre freaked out!!! i agree with the person who said dust though. if it was really windy, it could have picked up some dirt, and that mixed with rain, can look pretty freaky.
