I found an old gate way laptop but it say operating system not fond so i can log into windows, what should i do?

Never install something as old as Windows 98 even if your laptop is old i guarantee you it will support Windows 2000 Professional because if my old Pentium 2 processor with 350mghz can run it anything can! I recommend Windows 2000 Professional because many companies and corporations still use it so Microsoft Still Supports it and it runs under NTFS just like Windows XP only better because it doesn't have any childish 3rd party software

The hard drive probably has been "wiped"... nothing on it. If the laptop is worth it, you'll need to borrow someone's windows 98 disk, or have someone set it up for you. Since you say it's old, it most likely won't support XP...

its hard drive may be bad that could cause that. You may just need to get a new operating system for it or reinstal the old one assuming you have th disks
