my husband has bought a wireless conector, but it says the mtu failed!!! does anone no what this means or how you go about fixing it,

MTU stands for Maximum Transmission Unit. Basically the problem you are having is that you can't sign in because the MTU setting is too high or low. It is more likely that it is too low (below 1400 i think), this is probably a problem with your router or network equipment. Try and access your routers configuration page (put this into the address bar on your web browser 192.168.0.1) Look for a MTU setting and change this to at least 1400. This should solve your problem. If not visit Xbox.com and search that site, Hope this helps.

Hi on my netgear router to check the mtu settings you need to access the router through internet explorer, go to WAN setting and the mtu is in there. It sould be set to either 1492 or 1500.

See your first problem is going wireless b/c it takes a curtain kind of router that prevents signal interference with your appliances. I would call 1-800-4my-xbox for help they can tell you what the problem is and what you need to get that is compatible with the Xbox 360.
