All my friends think I'm spolied. Anyways, we made a bet. Here are facts about me, tell me if I'm spolied so I can prove to my friends once and for all!
-I get a $2000 dollar allowence every month (I'm 14 though)
-I don't have to do any chores. (Sometimes)
-I get expensive clothes and presents but thats because I can afford it.
I mean why is it that just because my family has money, I can't buy nice things? I mean I can be a bit snobby but I don't take anything for granted!

Yes, I believe you are a bit spoiled. I mean, why does a 14 year old need $2,000 a month? Do you spend the entire allowance on yourself, or do you help those that are less fortunate than you, too? Do you HAVE to get the most expensive clothes just because you can afford it, or can you buy things at "normal" stores, too. I'm not saying you can never buy things that are expensive, but thinking that you are "too good" to shop at a less expensive store definitely shows that you are spoiled. The fact that you say that you can be a bit snobby is proof out of your own mouth that you are spoiled. And just because you say that you don't take anything for granted doesn't make you not spoiled. Money is not everything, because Daddy could lose it all tomorrow!! Then what would you do??????

Well in order to NOT be spoiled, you have to be able to actually EARN those kinds of things... sure your family my have a lot of money but it doesn't mean you should just go out, do nothing, and get everything you want.

If you are a very helpful person, nice, sweet, work hard in school, have good grades, etc.... no, I don't think you're spoiled.

But from what you posted, I think you are a bit spoiled...

I didn't do chores when I was 14... Not every child does chores.
But then again I didn't get allowances either.
I would just work really hard in school and if I saw something at a store I liked, sometimes I'd get it because my parents felt like I EARNED it.

Yes you are the biggest spoiled brat Ive ever known for coming on yahoo answers to brag about how rich you are! You obviously know whether you are spoiled or not but you have to announce it to the whole world in order to get some attention. $2000 dollars a month is freakin outragious for a 14 year old! I'm 17 and i dont get a dollar from my parents. I have a job that pays me, and when i did get money from my parents it was only like 10 or 20 dollars at a time....and that was for doing a LOT of housework! you most likely take things for granted more than you think...thats just your little escape route from being labeled as a rich brat!

Sorry dear, but I'd have to say that you *are* a little bit spoiled...
I work more than 40 hours a week, and I only make about $2000 per month.

Eventually you too will have to work to earn a living. And that is not including all the work you will have to do that your are not getting payed for. Once you start living one your own, you are going to have to start doing your own chores. Or maybe you would like to spend that $2000/mo to hire a housekeeper? Maybe you, like a typical American, think that you can solve every problem by throwing money at it.

In fact, about half of the people on the planet earth do not make $2000 in an entire *year*

If I were you, I would quit wasting my money on brand name everything, and start saving for college. Or better yet start investing in real estate, once you have saved a few grand. That's the real trick, you can either work to earn you money, and then spend it all. Or you can save, invest, and put your money to work for you.....

Well your parents are spoiling you but there's a difference between being a spoiled brat and just plain out spoiled. If you don't take things for granted then you are not a spoiled brat but if you get $2000 being a 14 year old girl then yes you are spoiled because i can garuntee that only celebrity children get that much money for an allowance. Don't ever take it for granted and remember that your parents aren't going to always be there for you and you do have to work someday to make that much money... or i'm guessing your parents make more than 2000$ just tell your friends that you are not a spoiled brat you just get everything you want :)

HELL YEAH, YOU ARE! Damn, girl. You're just 14 and get a $2,000 allowance. I bet that money is gone by the end of the week.

If you're a smart girl, you would save all that money for your college tuition. You may say that your parents will pay for that. But sometimes you have to learn how to be responsible with your money. Be smart about it. Your parents are not going to be there forever. Learn to save money, girl. When was the last time you bought something positive? I bet not even once.

Personally, I would save that money for college. Get myself a car. Buy some things that are neccessary and important to have. Man, I would even donate an amount to the needy, homeless, hospitals, make a fund for some people or something.

Learn how to use your money. Peace!

Snobby and spoiled are two different things. Spoiled is when you are given a lot of gifts or money that you did not have to work for. Of course, that's no uncommon for a person of your age. But $2000 a month is a bit extreme, in my opinion. That is close to the household income of a lower middleclass family.

I think "spoiled" is a very subjective word. Spoiled to someone living in a 3rd world country is having 3 meals a day. What you need to think about is how this easy life will make you too soft to live a normal life. Some struggling during your childhood will strengthen you for the challenges that WILL face you in your adulthood. So maybe you could take a KARATE class with some hard-nosed-tough-assed instructor who will make you face challenges. I certainly think you need SOMETHING along those lines to help develop you durings these formative years. I knew a young woman who lived a soft life like yours, she was the MOST annoying little whiner I've ever met.

yup spoiled. No matter how much money a family has, a child should have chores. Your allowance is more then some people's monthly income. Expensive clothes and presents just because you can afford it isn't a good reason sorry.

wow kid, i am sure you try not to sound spoil, but the fact is: you are. Just because your mom give you money, it doesn't mean that you have to take it.

i go full time college and had a part time job imagine this i earned only 8 bucks an hour.

well if your family has nice things you can do nice things and enjoy it while you can... just don't slap it around on others.

Try to respect others who are less fortunate.
