He's my best mate but hates his current university and is moving North from September, I know it's ages but it's going to affect future gigs and he's an important member as he plays the drums. What should we do?

Try to find a new drummer. Who knows? He or she may even help you explore another, more creative side of your band.

dont choose me though.
