what happened to avril lavigne? i am sooo into her music at the moment and i tell my friends and they all laugh and say how rubbish she is? why dosent anyone like her music an especialy HER anymore?

Hey, don't listen to anyone who is slating Avril on here as they don't really seem to know alot about her.
I've liked her music since the first single and eagerly awaited her second album which in my opinion lived up to the first.
She is recording new stuff at this moment and as already mentioned by others has released one of the tracks.
I'm looking forward to her next album release and i think there will be alot of other people waiting anxiously too.
She does seem to have grown up a fair bit in recent interviews I've seen her in which i feel is going to reflect in her new stuff. By the way the interviews I've seen are on Canadian TV as that is where I'm living right now.

Hi I still like her music i havent heard much of her though, I guess she has a new album out. I dont think she is rubbish as she can sing and all. You just saw if coming though when she first came out she was a teenage rock chick, I remember watching a documentry on her and i think she said she wont go peroxide blonde and wear a push up bra or something like that, but she has already done one of those with her and dressing more feminie which there is nothing worng with that, but i think if you say you arnt going to change then really you should.
I though she was going to be like another Alanis Morisette, She looked the same for years with her long hair its about a few years ago when she had her hair cut short but thats about the only thing ive seen change on her. And Avril Lavigne started out about the same age as alanis moresette. It just ashame that the managers have to change they style of people. I suppose it doesnt matter as long as you like there music.
If you friends laugh at you ignore them.

I've never liked Avril, I think to me the problem has always been that I find her fake and manufactured. I respect artists who have "done their time" in clubs and pubs etc. They have a chance to build their own repertoire and to have some experience of life and different forms of music. Avril burst on to the scene with her "I'm a rocker" attitude, but can you honestly expect her to know about the history of rock/punk? Could she name a Clash or New York Dolls song? It's doubtful. I guess, in a nutshell, she had no credibility and she still hasn't develooped any in the meantime.
I wouldn't sit here and say that anyone who likes her is stupid or anything like that though. Music is personal, and if you like her, ignore anyone elses opinion. Think for yourself!

I think Avril Lavigne has fueled her own bad press. I remember when she first became famous after her first hit record and wore those shirt and ties. Of course alot of young girls wanted to be like her and wore the same thing. Avril, instead of being flattered, blasted those young girls in an interview. And most recently, she has been cleaning up her act a bit physically, but her and her new hubby gave the finger and shouted curse words to some paparazzi who were taking their picture. In the press, she comes across as being very full of herself and not worthy of her fans support.

For god's sake! She's a fake!!! She thinks she's a punk. She doesn't even know who the Sex Pistols are!! She had to look them up on the internet to find out. lol. It's true. After she looked them up on the net she claimed that she was the next Sid Vicious!! She is sooooo POP. But she denies it all the time. She's a big Hanson fan. She only shows up on MTV. She's such an awful singer. Especialy live. Oh yeah... sorry to dissappoint but she only CO-WRITES her songs, she doesn't properly write the whole songs herself, but claims she does. I could go on and on... She's the biggest liar ever. I wouldn't p*ss on her even if she was on fire i hate her so much!!!

I used to like avril lavigne, but she has completely changed, she sounds completely different, and seems to have turned into Hilary Duff.

i think she is still around just hasn't made new music 4 a while. It happens 2 lots of famous people sometimes they have a break, or have a couple of 1 hit wonders, or u just neva hear them again.

She married Derek from sum41 presume they have been enjoying married life an, shes just released a new single judging by other answers am guessing is called girlfriend.
