I met Donald Sutherland in 1978 at The Hyatt in Vancouver, BC Canada. Have a picture of us both taken by my boyfriend. He's a wonderful man! I also went to school with Neil Young in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and I know Burton Cummings, and The Guess Who also from Wpg.

I don't know what to class as famous really.

I've met Elijah Wood, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Michael Biehn, Dean Stockwell, Lance Henriksen, Alan Cumming, seen Burt Reynolds at a talk...and some other people that most wouldn't class as 'famous'.

I was 16 years old and travelling with my Athens High School Art Club from Ohio to New York City in the spring of 1980.

My best friend Adele was given a pass to see a childhood friend for dinner while we went to a nearby restaurant. Her friend (from Nelsonville, OH) was a child pursuing acting in New York and even been one of the "Annie's" in the musical of the same name.

The group and I were on the street waiting for the light to change in the dusky evening sun - when I was grabbed by another friend. She couldn't speak. We all just stood and stared. There, waiting with us was a great football hero. I loved cheering for this guy with my dad as we watched him play!!!

I grabbed my camera - and clicked off a couple of shots. My dad would be SO THRILLED! I just saw O. J. SIMPSON!! ...BOY! Would Adele be jealous! We saw a REAL LIVE CELEBRITY and SHE MISSED IT! (I still have the pictures.)

Well... Adele was bummed that she missed O.J. - but still glad that she had got to see her childhood friend.

She presented me with a piece of paper with her friend's autograph in pen and told me to save it, 'cause she just KNEW her friend would be famous someday... Maybe even MORE famous than O.J.!

I did keep it.

It's signed:
To [me] -
"Leapin Lizards!"
Love and Rainbows -
Sarah Jessica Parker

Time gives an interesting perspective... don't you think?
Peace!--De
