I love wearing make-up, but i wear quite a lot and i saw a horrible, cruel programme on TV about animal testing. I have been a vegeterian for a few years, so i would like to support cosmetics that are against animal testing. I am 15 years old and i can't afford to pay a lot for make-up. Any opinions would help, thanks.

Have you tried Burt's bees? www.burtsbees.com .They use organic products and don't practice animal testing. Their products range from shampoos to lipsticks, and they tend to be within pocket range for being natural products. I use them and they are one of the best products i know. :-)

Body Shop Have A Good Selection Of Make Up, Not Tested On Animals.

2007-03-03 14:25:37 · answer #3 · answered by Jade 1 · 3 0

The Body Shop doesn't test on animals. But nowadays not many companies test on animals anymore. It's just not really done. There are other ways.

Keep in mind that products that aren't tested on animals still contain all the chemical additives and presevatives that are rumored to cause cancer.

Try to avoid products that contain additives and whose names end with Paraben. They may cause cancer. Which could be a problem if this is a product that you use each and every day, as it will enter your blood stream on a continous basis.
The Body Shop products contain all the parabens.

For clean, not animal tested products try e.g. the Burt's Bees product line.

Try the Body Shop. They have great cosmetics that are not only not tested on animals but they have fair trade agreements, so the money that you pay for the product goes to people in africa!

Arbonne is all natural and botanical. It is amazing! Formulated in Switzerland but made in the US. It is more expensive than drug store make-up but less than Clinique, Lancom, Mac, etc. You can sign up as a consultant for only 29 bucks and get 35% off and tons of specials. I just signed up to be a consultant and LOVE the stuff. They have skin care, make-up, body stuff, hair care, aromatherapy. You can email me directly if you want or have questions. wendy_healthybodymindspirit@yahoo.com

Most supermarkets own-brand cosmetics and toiletries are cruelty-free, but check the labels to be certain. Yves Rocher products are not tested on animals and they're fantastic too, but they can be expensive. Supermarkets might be your best bet. They're good products too, not cheap tat.
Don't go to Body Shop, they're owned by L'Oreal who do horrific and unnecessary tests on animals.
