I would agree with the previous answer - check the white pages of your phone directory. I know several authors who do that when naming their characters because they get "every-man" names that way.

Yes I agree. The white pages will help you for sure. You can also try googling it or some other search engines. My personal favorite for uncommon first name thus far has to be Othniel from the Bible. And yes, the Bible can be a good place to find names too. :)

On www.seventhsanctum.com , you can go to names and find almost any name genrator that might help.
"Quick Character Namer" gives you more common names. But if you go to something like "Elf Namer", it'll give you really, really unusual names.
