Lived in a small city until I retired. Then I moved.
Have the best of both worlds now. I live in a very small town. Have a nice, private back yard (woods behind us) and am close to the best sandy beach on the Great Lakes.
I have gardens, and great neighbors, a picnic area and fire pit for hot dogs and marshmallow roasting. Don't need animals. Our neighbors have them,, and they all come into my yard to visit.

We live in a small town, with a population of less than 2000. We will be leaving soon for "the big city" for more opportunity and also for medical needs of our son. Its nice to have that little cabin in the woods but if you have real needs, they can't be met way out in the middle of nowhere.

If you mean in the country, I'm already there, however although it's a country setting it's still in a small town close to things. My animals are 2 big cats and that's enough for me.

Nope. I will never move out of the city and into the 'country'. Once you've experienced all the diversity and everything a big city offers, you cannot go back.

Trust me, living in the sticks sucks.
I hated the bloody countryside when i had to live there.
Since I started university I've been living in a city and love it.

I would love to live in the country. I live in a very big city and it's okay, too much crime, even in the suburbs!!

I grew up rural, and I would love to go back now that i have children. Cities are overrrated.
