Seems like this is the kind of war which requires the removal of all friendlies from the field of battle and then an air assault on the remaining combatants .

You could say that we have been waging urban warfare in most of the Urban areas of the United States for forty years.

I remember walking through the Hermans Gardens project in Detroit one morning on the way to work when a gun fight broke out in an apartment where they had ripped out the front window wall of the apartment and turned into a chop shop. I remember being more worried about getting to work on time then I was about being shot. Just used to it, I guess.

I imagine Iraq is like that and I would have a serious problem with sending helicopters into Herman's Gardens.

They tried putting a fence around the whole place, that didn't work. they finally tore the whole place down in frustration.

I didn't like any of those dumb ideas, just more democratic political bad management.

This is the ultimate solution to the Iraqi problem.
The USA should consider Iraq as the spoils of war. It's now a piece of property belonging to the USA. Obviously, it's a piece of property we have no use for nor really want to own. So, let's parcel it up and auction the parcels out to the highest bidders.
What the heck. Let's make a few bucks on the deal instead of going broke.

The terrorist would just leave and then come back..
The Iraqi civilians need to grow a pair and turn over insurgents to US troops and force these idiots out of their neighborhoods.

How many millions of people do you want to move out?

Then what? Flatten the rest of Baghdad?

Not a likelyhood.
