They are the strongest Northern Hemisphere side at the moment, but they are not going to beat New Zealand.

They must have a reasonable chance of making at least the semi's. Newzealand seem to be building up a head of steam(at least in the media) and are clear favourites. There supremecy might disguise how good/bad South Africa and Australia really are at the moment.

France must be up there with a chance and there is bound to be a surprise package from one of the 'smaller' nations probably a South Sea area team.

England are too fragile at the moment to be considered as anything beyond quarters we may find the group stage too tough this time.

Ireland have stabalised their pack and their foraging in the loose has been excellent so far. I think losing finalists this time.
As an Englishman I hope it's to us!!
I suspect however they will be playing France or Newzeland if they make it that far, in which case I will most definately be supporting the Irish and raisng several glasses of the 'guinless'
if they make it.

I think Ireland has a good chance now at winning the World Cup, it's either now or never because Brian O'Driscoll is starting to get too old to play and he may retire soon. I think the only competition for Ireland will be New Zealand, France, and possibly Australia. I would like to see Ireland win a World Cup so I wish them good luck.

Out of ten, currently they are an eight. Pretty good, but France and Australia are a nine, and NZ are a 10.

At best, I think they have a decent chance of reaching the semi-finals...but as for winning it, forget it. You shouldn't read too much into the fact they beat England heavily
..Ireland are an aging team now at their peak, whilst England are beginning to re-build and are comparatively weak.

they are legit, world cup contenders. they are capapble of beating anyone in a one off game, including new zealand. This is the best Irish team in a long long time. They currently ranked the highest they have ever been since ranking was introduced and right now they are far better than australia and maybe even south africa. Definately the best northern Hemisphere team.

Ireland are very good.

They have every chance of winning the World Cup later on this year out in France.

it is unlikely that any team other then New Zealand will win the world cup however if a team like France,Australia or Ireland play exceptionally well they could upset the all blacks, opening up the title for those three teams.
Fingers crossed for Ireland though.

Very good considering they beat the current World Champions England. They are a very hard team to beat anywhere in the world.

Depending on the draw, and if its favourable they have a good chance.

Ireland should have beaten france - with BOD in the team they would have.
With the rub of the green they could make the final

Well, they are still an associate member, and they need more international exposure to compete with teams like Australia, South Africa, India, West Indies etc.

Anyway, they have qualified for the cricket world cup, and I hope that they put on a good show next week onwards.

They are very very good. They have one of the best back and second rows in the world, they have great pace and talent in the backs - basically they have it all (apart from a good front row).
I hope they win the world cup. But I can't see it (no strength in depth).
