Sterotype is basically a common perception or mis-perception of a group of people, based on a simple statistic such as age, race or some other sort of trait.

Some basic teenage ones:

All cheerleaders are air heads and are good for arm candy and and easy lay.

All jocks are muscle bound retards

All "gifted" kids are Goody to shoes. ---trust me some of these girls are definantely not....

Blondes are dumb

Teenagers can't drive

etc...

As to teenage stereotypes, some examples would be saying that all teenagers listen to rock (or hip-hop) music all the time, take drugs, never go their classes, and never give any sort of respect to adults. I personally do not subscribe to all these stereotypes, I was just providing some examples.

stereotypes is classifying someone in a category just because of they way they look, act, talk, etc. and most times really has nothing to do with the individual. Some teenage stereotypes are that teemagers are lazy today, and have no moral values, ect. Hope this helps

Well, a stereotype is kinda like racism... racism is a form of a stereotype. A teenage stereotype would be to think that all teens are trouble makers... it's basically a label.

My favorite stereotype is thinking people who label others are jerks, because by thinking so you label people who label people... ; )

Types of people. You know Nerds, Jocks, Cheerleader types.

People expect people in these groups to act a certain way and to have the characteristics associated with these types of people.

The cheerleader type therefore will be blond, mean, stupid and superficial.

The Jock, also superficial and stupid.

The Nerd is expected to be brainy, with tape holding his glasses together and to be a hopeless loser with women.

But in real life people can't be put in such boxes. There are lots of Jocks and cheerleaders who are smart and thoughtful people as well as dumb nerds who have lots of girlfriends -- or Boyfriends :)

they r when a certain type of person or group of people are labelled as a certain thing.eg black people are often looked at as criminals because alot/most crime is commited by them.that is an example of a stereotype.
or an example of in d uk.youngsters wearing hoodies are looked at as being young thugs commiting voilent acts so much so that some shopping centres hav banned them.that too is a stereotype case.

its like saying, certain people are all the same, like all black people like rap music, or all puerta ricans smell bad, or all americans hate muslims and support the war in iraq. teenager stereotypes, umm, they all are immature and make bad decisions, they all do drugs, they all disrespect thier parents, they all lye. stereotypes are almost always wrong. you can say, all humans haves bones, all humans have blood, all humans are living things, all rocks are hard. those are facts, not stereotypes. stereotypes shouldn't be used, its pretty dumb. good luck.
