Being a white person is Canada or America you are automatically seen as 'mainstram', but i was wondering if any of you have ever experienced discrimiation because of your gender, age, white priviledge or anything like that. Examples would be appreciated please. Thanks friends!

Yes, of course, I can't think of a white person I know who has not........my favorite example was trying to get scholarships for my kids to go to college, had saved all I could, went without and so did they, when it came to it, even though we had need...(single parent).....we still couldn't get any scholarships becasue all their years of well roundedness, no trouble, good grades and working hard and doing without meant nothing because they "DIDN'T FIT THE DIVERSIFICATION GUIDELINES"......

Lets hear it for affirmative action.....it's affirmative alright....it affirms my belief that you are absolutely fuc*** unless you are a minority.....

sorry if that sounds too angry, but I am.....it is making me have bad feelings about minorities, not the minorities themselves, but these ridiculous prejudicial jusdgements towards whites.

Being white now, people assume you have it easier in most things. But in truth that is wrong. Most middle income white kids can't get all the free "money" help for college like other races. Being white and wanting to do an all "white" beauty contest, or a complete channel on tv similar to BET, or a college that pushes being "all white", or a month for white history, you'd be sued by some group. If a white kid tries dressing or acting "un-white" people say the kid is trying to be black. Some even say the the white people are stealing "rap" from the blacks. If white people do have any type of meeting or activity that stands for their race, people immediately say those white people are racist. It is okay for other races to be given awards, have "stomp" groups, beauty pageants, tv channels that highlight their race, but white people get discrimiated against if they do it. Even McDonald's and local new stations give high school kids awards for doing something outstanding, like this weeks/months award for Hispanic student, but you never hear a award that says for white student.

Being white is not a privilege it is just who we are, how we happened to be born. I've never experienced any of the above due to the color of my skin. Maybe I have due to my outspokenness, or my lack of skills or whatever...but never discrimination due to the color of my skin. I seem to fit in fine wherever I go - even my boyfriend's large family (I'm in an interracial relationship).

in my opinion, in america today a white male mid-forties with a high school education and a blue collar job is probably on the endangered species list.

i have lost jobs to natives in Alberta on pipeline projects because the companies have a quota for aboriginal people on the workforce. it really made me mad because i was far better qualified for the jobs but I'm white and got passed over.

i have. when you work with predominately black or mexican people, it happens all the time. they are out to prove their worth, and alot of them view white people as an obstacle. its understandable. its kinda like the young executive trying to climb the corporate ladder. skin color isnt so much the issue as its just people trying to get what they want.
