I don't know what engine the Firebird has, but I would imagine in that year it has an Oldsmobile or Pontiac V8, or a Buick V6. If so, you probably won't be able to find a bellhousing to fit. If it is a Chevy engine, then yes. You will have to make/modify a crossmember and mount to fit, and modify the driveshaft length. It is also only rated at 300 ft/lbs. of torque, so you need to watch what engine you put it behind. Most factory engines in this car were pretty weak, but it is a heavy car compared to the '92, so make sure you have everything right. With a weak motor and a heavy car, it could have a hard time pulling it down the road in overdrive, and a high load is hard on a clutch. Just a couple things to consider.

Yes, it may not be easy though. I put a five speed from a '91 Mustang in a '70 Maverick. The clutch was tricky, but I thought it was well worth the effort. I miss that car (not the 12 miles to the gallon on premium.)
