Wikipedia might be a simpler way of learning about plate tectonics than the previous source (plus they wont try to sell you anything on Wikipedia)...

Don't listen to these people telling you "it's not a theory"... it is most definately a theory. It is one of the most widely accepted theories of all time -- but it is definately a theory, and one that is not completely understood.

It's not a theory. Just type plate tectonics into Google and you will find out every thing you will need to know.

It's not really a theory. The east side of South America looks a lot like it could fit into the west side of Africa because once it did and all studies of the geology from both regions prove this. Whatever continent you are standing on is moving, not amazingly fast but quickly enough to register on man made equipment.
