Im Mexican. Rmember you just beat our national tem 2-0?
Most fo Mexicans think Mexico is better than the U.S. and that your team was just kind of lucky.
My questions is: Do you realy think your team is better?
Do you think you deserved to win?
Please be objective no mean to insult.

Of course we deserved to win. Whether we are better or not, we won, not by luck but because that is what happened. That is how life is, that is how the game is. Sometimes it just happens. The team put theirself into a situation that allowed them to win. They may not be better, that's not for me to answer, but we did deserve to win because we did win. You can't say that one doesn't deserve a win just because they may not be better than the other team. This kind of stuff happens. A team that people don't think much of comes through with a win. It was our day, we had it going for us, and we won.

Do I think that US deserved the win? Good question and the answer is YES! I think Mexico is a good team, but I think the US is at least as good if not better. I know that people in Mexico are still stock on the old days when no American knew what real football was, but that is no longer the case. See the latest statistics on who wins the US and Mexico matches, US has the upper hand. Just take a look at how many players from Mexico play in Europe where football leagues are the best and see how many American players play there. And one more thing watch games in MLS and the Mexican league and see which are more exciting to watch. I think MLS, but all games of course, but a few just enough to take that edge. So yes US deserved the win.

Michelle Platini, the great French player in the 70's said, "This is soccer, not figure skating--you don't get anything for artistic impression." The only thing that matters in soccer is getting the ball in the back of the net. The USA was able to do that, and Mexico wasn't. There was nothing at all lucky about the first USA goal, it was a well executed corner kick and finish. The second goal was also well finished (granted it began with a bounce off the ref.) Mexico dominated possession toward the end of the game, but I believe their not being able to score had more to do with Tim Howard and the USA defense playing very inspired and very hard rather than simple bad luck. Besides, Mexico hasn't scored against the USA in this country in years. If it were one isolated game you could say it was just a fluke, but--except when playing in Stadio Azteca-- Mexico has had one disppointing game after another against the US, going back for some years now. You can hardly hardly claim "bad luck" is to account for that many losses. One thing is sure: this rivalry is becoming a truly great one. Every USA vs. Mexico game is becoming an event, a "super-classico" I think you call it. I can't wait till the next one: I'm hoping it will be in the Copa del Oro final. Regards!

Let's put it this way- the US can't win in Mexico, and it's becoming clear Mexico can't win in the US. It's also 2007- the real test will come in 2010 when the wolrd cup comes around. Mexico deserves credit for making the knock out stage in 2006, where the US didn't. On the other hand, Mexico didn't do much when they got there, so while Mexico technically did better, neither side distinguished itself.

I bet the game in Korea in 2002 still haunts you guys.

This is my opinion of USA and Mexico, especially the latest match.

First, many of the USA players had not been playing enough due to the MLS season. With that in mind, speaking in generalities

With mostly MLS players in USA squad:
1. US has better goalkeepers, hands down.
2. US has better defense, hands down.
3. Mexico is better technically.
3. Mexico has better playmakers, hands down.
4. Mexico is better in attack, hands down.
5. Mexico is better overall

With all international players available.
1. USA is about 80% as good in attack as Mexico.
2. USA is even better in defense than before, including goal!
3. USA gains a fair amount of ground in midfield.
4. USA is better overall, but not by much margin.

Frankly, I feel that if Mexico could get an outstanding goalkeeper and pick up another central defender as good as Marquez (and stop playing with only 3 defenders!), Mexico would blow USA's doors in. Defense is Mexico's weakness, especially on set pieces. They need nothing immediately in attack (although a good replacement for Borghetti's gotta come). USA needs better playmakers and they need strikers with international experience.

I don't know that we are any better... but i know we certainly have your number right now.

To be honest, Mexico outplayed the US for good portions of the match, but could not complete a good final ball. The terrible marking on Conrad's goal meant you had to chase the game, which eventually made the Donovan goal come about.

Claudio Suarez recently said the El Tri need to understand that they can't cry about bad luck one in one game because their struggle against the US has now gone on for years.

to answer your question, Yes i do believe we are better, although your league may be better, to an extent our players are getting better training, now that almost half of our squad is playing in Europe(mostly england)

Year after year you can see is getting a bit better, while on the other hand your team seems to be slipping.
