I agree with you totally. Take a look back to our grandparent's and parent's day. Times were different then, parents were parents and now parents are trying to be children's friends and parents are afraid of disciplining children for the fact of the government getting involved. It's sad, scary and crappy. Sometimes a good smack is all a kids need to straighten up. I don't punish my kids by spankings or anything like that because I guess I've been blessed with respectful kids. But when they do something that warrants discipline, they stand in the corner with their arms out for ten minutes. That does the trick just fine.

Its not that parents don't have the balls its the fact that if you touch a child now you will get 911 called on you. Trust me i see alot of kids that i wish i could slap the fu- - out of. I know they need it. Its called discipline and alot of it is not in house holds today. I wish any of my kids would try to act up i had they little bad as -so I'm going to do what i have to to make them understand that they have to have respect for me there father and any other adult that's out there.

The biggest problem in my opinion is that parents today want to be friends with their child, be their peer. It's very sad that most kids are being raised by single parents who also want lives of their own and let their children raise themselves. Parents want to be considered "cool" by their kids and therefore do not discipline them properly. I don't know how this can change, we (as a country) are raising a bunch of rude, lazy, fat, video game playing, pieces of crap. I hope I die before I can see what will become of our country.

Parents today worry too much about their kids feelings. the result is the hoodlums you see running around these days and ending up in prison at a young age.
A lot of kids today have no respect for anyone or anything, and society shows that by the crime rate of teens.

Yes Sir, I do Johnny Walker. I grew up where a spanking with a belt was common punishment. And I towed the LINE TOO!!!

totally, ive worked in a shop since before i had my son(hes 7 1/2) and some of the behaviour i see is absolutely disgusting and the kids get away with it, now i no im not supposed to but if my son swore or hit me or someone else i would smack him and he knows this and doesnt want one so behaves pretty much when hes told too, all kids play up but they need guidelines otherwise its hell on earth with them!x

I am not allowed to get away with anything. Sometimes I backtalk, and I get in serious trouble. I don't know when I do back talk they just say get in the front leaning rest, until you are ready to get up. Then they'll tell me I was disrespectful, but sometimes they forget, and I just stay there for a long time...

No. It's b/c kids are like their parents. That's totally why my dad and I don't get along. I could be his twin if he were 13. Freaky huh? My parents use a belt on my 5 year old sis and they ground me from the phone, computer, cell. Figures huh?
