Try turning on some music or get her a musical mobile to hang over her crib/playpen-this is a toy with objects of delight hanging from an umbrella type top that has musical chimes or winds up and circles around playing music.A bear or an Elmo that you pull a string and it talks to her might get her attention but probably not yet.Try some apple juice if she is getting too fat.Put the food down and switch to the juice. Also, ask the pediatrition. They're real good with newborn babies. You'll probably like the advice. She might need to be burped but if she is not spitting this up ,that is probably not it.

If your baby is hungry feed her. I tried with both my babies to get them to eat only every 3 hours and this never worked. Both my babies needed milk every 2 hours sometimes even sooner. My first baby was strictkly breast fed and my second is bottle fed and it's the same thing. My daughter is 4 months and I still can't stretch her much more then 2 hours. A new baby should eat every two hours, I think your doing the right thing. Don't worry too much about what the doctors say, just do what makes your baby and you happy. Whatever works! Good luck and congrats, motherhood is the best!

have you asked the doctor about this? I'll ask my mom when she gets home and edit my answer.
EDIT:
4 oz. per 3-4 hours is probably fine, but how can you tell she's "hungry" if she's crying maybe she just wants to be held. Maybe feed the baby every 2-3 hrs. 3-4 oz. and make sure she's peeing and pooping.

Feed her. She is still hungry. My son, at one week was drinking 7 to 8 oz. of formula. He is now 17, and has never been over weight. Babies at two weeks of age won't over eat.
Congrats on the new baby!

My daughter's doctors recommended that she eat every 2-3 hours, as long as she isn't spitting up, and being overfed, it's okay to feed her, babies can hold about 5 oz of fluid in there stomachs, and it takes about 2 hours to digest. Maybe every 2-3 hours is okay, try a pacifier because some babies just want to suck!! I hope that helps.

I know some are NOT going to like my answer, but I fed all my babies until THEY were FULL, and no they did not become obese they remained healthy and HAPPY!
Babies are after all individuals and I'am not saying OVERFEED, just until the infant no longer wants his bottle, especially premies.
I am also not advocationg you plop a bottle into your child's mouth
every time they open it but when you get used to the amount it takes for your infant to become full you will not needlessly worry
about it. Good luck Congrats!

You should be singing for joy that she or he wants to eat. try to picture a baby with a cleft palet who needed a special long nipple on her bottle and 3/4 hr to get 2 ounces into her, talk about patients.Let them eat as long as they are hungry at this age, they know when they are full. good luck. and be happy

I feed my kids when they were hunger and let them eat until they were finished.
It's ok to use the doctors recommandation as a guide line, when it comes to feeding the baby. But you need to do what you feel is best for your child.

Try giving her 5 or 6 ounces at a time. I don't think you should feed her any sooner , though. And she is still too young to start her on cereal. I would talk to her pediatrician. They would be able to answer your question better.

give her a pacifier, if she keeps on eating too much, she will get a bad stomach ache, and be really fussy. Babies just want to suck, when they need comfort, or are in pain. But you need to monitor how much she eats and how often. If you know she should not be hungry, then give her a pacifier, and rock her or something! Good Luck
