Ok.. so my mom got this cute louis vuitton bag in 1992 i think.. I was looking through all her old bags, and i came across it... She doesnt use it anymore, cuz i guess it doesnt really suit her and its not really appropriate for her age hahaha, so if i want it, i can take it(yay! :P). The bag is kinda one of those classics.. the leather looks brandnew, and i love the cut... only one problem.. the leather handle(which use to be beigish orange) is now blackish brownish orangish! :S :( ... Is there anything i can do to make it better? Cuz i dont want to spend a fortune buying another louis vuitton bag.. :S thanks in advance!! :)

btw..
I dont know which polish to use.. im scared i use one and then the handles become worse :S!

Hi there.

That is the beauty about Louis Vuitton. Their leather. It is normal that with lots of use and time, that your bags leather trim will get almost black. There is nothing to do at this point.

The only option is to go to your local Louis Vuitton store. They can replace the handles (or strap) on your bag. They send the bag off to either their office in France or California. You will loose the bag for about 8 weeks, but they will completely replace the handles and put brand new ones. Ask the cost before hand so you can determine if it is in your budget.

Once you change the handles, then there is only one spray that will repell the water and keep your bag in great shape. The spray is called SHINING MONKEY and it is great on new Vuitton leather.

Hope this helps. I own many Vuitton bags and through trial and error...I am now able to help others out with their Vuitton bags.

Hope it helps...Bye :o)

Depending on where you live, There may be a Louis Vuitton store near by. You should go in and see if they have a special spray to make the handle look brand new! If it's too expensive see if they have it cheaper at another store or on ebay!

I kid you not. I think his mother saved every scrap of paper since 1940. I found junk, like tray liners that you get at a fast food restaurant that were obviously decades old. I found their tax filings from the mid 1960s. Yes, really. I found an unused datebook from 1967, the year I was born. Automobile insurance bills from BEFORE I was born. I found newpaper clippings…I found Jack Webb’s original obit. I found TV Guides from 1970. National Enquirer talking of Elvis Presley’s ‘recent death’. You get the picture. Now, quadruple it.
