if the universe itself is still around i see a very good chance of humans being throughout space. its true the average lifespan of a species is a few million years but some earth species have been around for over 200 million years. unlike any creatures before us we have the ability to observe our enviroment and make changes that help to promote our well being... for instance even looking for asteroids that could wipe us out. unlike life forms before us we can leave earth and look elsewhere, i do however think we are prob a few thousand years from any sort of spacel travel that really amounts to anything. even the speed of light is not fast enough for space travel. we are like bacteria at the edge of the ocean...not a clue how to cross. but at least we can think about it and set goals. in a billion years if we have not traveled to other planets i think humans as a race will not exist. i dont think earth will be around that long..leaving earth and populating other planets is the ONLY way to survive long term

The question is whether human being will still exist after all in a billion years ... When we look into history of life so far, it is very likely to be extinct by then or to be altered to a complete different form. Anf if we still exist though, no, it will not be hard to major in history, because one will start to specialize on a certain era ...

In a billion years, It is unpredictable. Humans may be all wiped out in a meteor near the future. (2030+) Of course, population waill grow too big that humans will colonize in mobile cities, Ocean cities, and space colonies. Maybe another planet besides mars.

I very much doubt humans will be around in a billion years. The average species lifetime for a mammal is a few million years, and I doubt humans will be much of an exception.

It's hard to tell, we might become the master of all existence by then, or we'll be wiped out by our own stupidity in 10.
