Yours is positively one of the most interesting questions I have read in a long time. Frankly, neither I nor anyone else has an answer. I think that as we grow older our soul matures with age, and it incorporates the good and the bad experiences that we have had in our lifetime. In the many eulogies which I have heard at funeral services, I usually hear "he or she was a good soul"
Rarely if ever, does anyone say "he or she was a wise soul, or a compassionate soul, or he or she had a happy soul. The list is endless. I guess we will all know the definitive answer to your question when it is our time to pass into eternity.

Good question - never thought about it before. Anyway, as long as the 85yr old man has the same childish thinking as the 5yr old one, then i guess it's pretty much the same. btw, i think the word 'soul' can be further defined.

That's a good question. I don't know if it so much ages per se, it supposedly being the essence of a person and immortal, but I think it changes as it gets filled with different life experiences, memories and emotions. So the old guy's soul would be different from the child's just because of experiencing more, all of those experiences coming together in making a person's soul/essence unique.

The soul is a concept apart from the body. Most religions believe in the soul living after the body dies. The soul doesn't have age or skin color from what I understand.

In the end,you have control of your soul. The soul is something about and of the body. You can keep your soul young by looking at things differently or exploring your mind.Life is too short for a soul to let itself grow old.

Nice question...I'm thinking -- mm ----mmm
The physical characteristics will age for that 85 yr. old man...his body organs will wear out and his body will no longer function. He will die. His soul is timeless. Since a soul has no material characteristics...it is ageless. That's my belief.
So, my answer is : no the soul does not age with time...

no, the soul festers and grows from spiritual activity, prayer good deeds etc. and like heavy lifting for the body, the soul becomes stronger from this.
the soul requires routine upkeep and management, becasue if you sin your soul becomes dirty and unkept, but going to confession sends Jesus in their with a vaccum cleaner to clean up.
so, like the body a soul changes.

Souls are eternal. I don't beleive that they actually age. Once a person is conceived, they have a saoul that live for forever.
