I believe the biggest threat to our world is complacency. We have the resources, the right and the responsibility to find out what we can do to make this world a better place. Most leave it up to someone else. Unfortunately, the people in charge (Bush and Cheney) SAY they're trying to deal with the threats but most of us are smart enough to realize they're looking out for their own butts. It is our responsibility to actively pursue the truth. Even if it pisses of the conservatives!

Apathy. Too many people are so involved in their own lives that they ignore what is happening around them. People don't vote and when they do, they don't take the time to learn about the candidates, just select the one from their party or the one who's advisers crafted the best image.
This had resulted in governments that are responsible to political donors rather than the citizens. The politicians use wedge issues to keep the citizens divided and offer them two parties that are in collusion to make voters believe that they have a choice.
There is tremendous need in some areas and waste in others because the haves are too busy for the have-nots. Religions are more interested in membership than tolerance. It all boils down to the general apathy of the masses that allow the minority ruling interests to dominate.

Facists/communists using radical islam as an excuse to move us toward global tyrany.
I know it has become cliche to talk about communism but they did not just go away when the berlin wall fell. In fact everything that has been going on lately including the apparent colapse of the soviet union falls within one of the communist alternative strategies. The us has fallen BIG TIME for big government. I even know a couple russians that say we are worse than russia was when they were kids. Thats really saying something. Most of us have the misfortune of having been brainwashed with this "USA is the most free and perfect nation under god" BS but we have not been outside our own borders for even a day to know if its true. Most of our media are controlled by five men and thats where we get almost all of our information about the world. Our nation is either in serious trouble, or members of our government are trying to make it look that way to play a good game.
Seriously, you are right it is a problem and much more of one than most people realise because they think terrorism is the front of radical islam when the truth is they take over nations by immigration and pretending to be of other religions.
BUT they are not even close to being as much of a threat as all these new world order salad tossers that don't have any understanding of systems theory or chaos theory. HELLO single point of GLOBAL failure!?!?! Not a good idea.
Right now sri lanka is very close to becoming a radical islamic state, india is on its way, and you would be suprised how far along great britian is. The USA is not in great danger but most would be suprised how far along we are on the typical plan for an islamic takeover. We have a LOT of muslims here and many of them want sharia but don't own up to it.
I also agree with the guy about complacency.

In terms of people: Terrorism and Crazy People with guns (by guns I mean any really, including nuclear)
In terms of overall: Population expansion, resources becoming more scarce and environmental destruction
haha I'll tell you one thing global warming and the destruction of the Earth isn't a "liberal rant" why don't you open your conservative eyes and look around you, we are destroying the planet for are future generations. I should add that ignorant people are perhaps the biggest threat of all.
Note: Einstein played no role in the development of nuclear weapons and actually warned the US about the Nazi attempt at development of them that led to the Manhattan Project. Oppenheimer is usually credited as being the father of nuclear weapons and realized how bad of a thing he had created (while at the same time being glad it was a success before Nazi Germany did) .

A resurgent, belligerent Russia! Putin is a throwback to the former Stalinist days, yet hiding in the back of a cloak of democracy. After him is Gordon Brown of the united kingdom. he's slowly yet truthfully taking Britain aside, yet no longer through belligerence. he's a grossly misled and flawed guy, and worst of all, he's, deep interior, a megalomaniac administration freak. a risky mixture!

Interesting that the answers so far are all liberal rants about Bush & Ozone and Global Warming. Shows how clueless these islamic sympathizers are about Islam. I agree with you about Islam ...not just radical though....Plus liberalism is a great threat to America.
