Adapting to environmental changes is very easy to believe. Many people, such as myself, believe in God and in evolution. The Bible is simply one of many books followed by religious people. The book of genesis (in the Bible) goes right along with evolution. God created the waters, then the fish, and so on. The Bible is not necessarily written in a literal sense. It is quite possible that the writings are symbolic. I find it much easier to believe that my species evolved from a common ancestor to modern apes than believing we all came from Adam and Eve; We would all be inbred idiots.

People "believe" in gods. Evolution is based on evidence. If you really want to learn about evolution, go read some books other than the bible. A good place to start would be Richard Dawkins' "Climbing Mount Improbable". It will tell you the truth about the chances being so small.
If you really want to believe in creation, it would be better to go back to the religion questions and answers.

Because the alternative is to have the religious faith of a four-year old who thinks daddy can lift cars. Also, Evolution is the opposite of chance. And just to be clear, no matter how small a number is, you can still write it ('0' is pretty small, yet extremely simple to write). But I'm sure you knew this.

What are the chances that Noah gathered up two of every kind of animal (including all the microscopic species) and loaded them onto his ark? Evolution happens -- it is the cornerstone of biology, supported by tons of evidence. If you don't want to believe in science, then that's just fine. Maybe you should think twice about going to a doctor when you get sick -- after all he/she will give you medicines that were developed by SCIENTISTS!!

The vast majority of the worlds population are intelligent and unbiased enough to understand the science. They are probably far too intelligent to fall for the magical god made it all stuff that has absolutely no science behind it at all.
Take your belief and follow it but live in your own small world and leave the rest of the world in peace!!
Questions like yours are turning Christianity from a religion into an ideology and destroying it!!!

if you're talking about someone who doesn't think about things in terms of evidence; i don't know.. maybe they're easily impressionable?
as for scientists or those that subscribe to the necessity of evidence, here's a definition:
"A scientist is a person who accepts everything but believes nothing."
We don't believe in evolution so much as agree that the evidence thus far seems to support it. It's the best model to describe the world we can observe.

How come for the last two thousand years everyone believed that God created everything? Because it makes the most sense at the time.

Because the alternative is to believe in God. A lot of people don't want to do that because it would interfere with their lifestyle.
Kind of like not wanting to jump off a sinking ship because they might get wet.
