Let's see, my friend has Cingular and his has the Razr & his wife & kid have a Samsung. I know that from watching him, he seems to have some difficulties manuevering around on his phone as far as the different options he can do, etc. with Cingular. And he seems to have a lot of dropped calls.

I have Verizon. I have had it since before it was even Verizon (it started as GTE Mobilnet in CA) and between the 2 services (GTE & Verizon) I've had it for about 15 years. My current phone is a Razr and I have no problems with it. Manuvering with the phone is so much easier, in my opinion, than Cingular. My Razr can record a sound & it can be set as a ring tone. My old phone, LG7000 & my daughter's old phone, LG6000, could do the same thing. However, her new phone, the LG Chocolate, will not do that. You can record a sound but you cannot set it as a ringtone. The only way you are going to get ringtones for this phone as well as another LG that I looked at a while ago (I believe the call it LG the V & it was the 8900 series I think) is downloading directly from Verizon. You cannot download from other companies off the internet, etc.

That was one thing I was very adament about as I wanted to use various sounds, other ringtone companies, etc. for my ringtones.

As far as dropped calls, very seldom do I experience dropped calls it's usually the other party and it's usually someone on Cingular. I've never had a dropped call while talking to another Verizon customer.

Also on Verizon if you have text messaging you can actually block a phone number from texting you. Found this out when my daughter went over her text allotment and Verizon told me how to do it online. You cannot do that on Cingular from what the Cingular rep told me the other day (had to totally disconnecdt & completely block all texting on my friends daughters phone as she went $82 over her allotment for texting).

AS far as the other cell phone companies, I couldn't tell you about them as I've never experience them. Only Verizon for myself & Cingular for my friend (his business). If you want to know anything else feel free to email me through Yahoo Answers.

Have a great weekend!

Why? i don't understand...could desire to be some deep seated lack of self belief, lol, some as yet undiagnosed, unnatural emotional attachment to landline telephones? Yeah...phonaphobic separation affliction or something...hmmm...contemplate whether it could qualify me as heavily disturbed sufficient to ditch gainful employment and collect a verify or something?
