Everyone has problems. Not just GM. For instance, my Dodges all left me stranded. My Chevrolet never did(knock on wood), my friend Ron, like you, has problems with his GM, but his Ford never let him down. Its a random thing that happens to all car companies. YES even foreign cars. The camry's we have at work, all but 2(11 cars) had bad engines. Its a recall but it just goes to show that all companies have lemons.

I've own plenty of both. Some Ford's are lemons, Some chevy's are lemons. Even some Honda's and Toyota's are lemons.
Just depends on the car. If you got 3 bad chevy's in a row, then you just have bad luck I guess. I've own half a dozen or so, and never had one that was a genuine lemon.
I did however, have one Ford that was a genuine lemon. A 1980 Ford Fairmont, with a straight six. I couldn't keep that thing on the road. But, I've owned a few rangers that were good Fords, so I try not to dog them too bad.

Each person's individual experience is different. My first Chevy didn't break down, rather I ended it's life early by putting it into ditch at 70+ mph (I dearly miss that Monte Carlo). I currently have another Chevy (a malibu) and while I had to have a wheel bearing replaced last weekend (at 62k miles) I have had no other problems with it. I have owned GMs all my life - 3 died premature deaths thinks to my poor driving skills, one was a lemon from the beginning but I loved it to death and one I had zero problems with, but got bored with it after paying it off and the Monte caught my eye.

You are judging by your personal experience and that is not a true consensus of a product.
Now my personal experience is that I rely more on a General Motors products.
And someone else Chrysler.
I find it to be very subjective...because some cars are "lemons" from the start whatever make.
And then there is a thing called "product loyalty". They wouldn't think of changing "come hell or high water". For instance, take my
1988 Alfa Romeo Spider....PLEASE!!!

I have owned a 1996 Chevy Monte Carlo for over 10 years. I have had no major problems. Only minor repairs and normal wear and tear items, ties, exhaust, breaks.

Lets see I have had over 30 Chevy's .None of them ever broke. But where I work all they have is Ford's It seems all they do is spend there time getting them fixed. Ford's didn't get all those nicknames for no reason.Ford's Suck.

Quality of part's is the main reason most vehicles break down. I have been a ford man my whole life and i wouldn't own anything else. Just remember opinions are like butt-holes we all have them, it just depends if we were talking out of them or not..

Must be you! Chevrolet and Ford have been routinely beating Toyota on quality ratings. Bet you didn't hear that on the alphabet network news.

Maybe you should do some research before you buy a car. Um all brands make cars that aren't the best cars. You can't just be closeminded and say chevy's are bad cars. You didn't do your homework before you purchased the cars.

Face it, all cars break down, new . . .old . . .cheap or expensive. I have had good luck with Fords too, but they still break down; just like every other vehicle.
