Does anybody know how companies charge customers through their phone? Like how that works?

Question

For example I call a dateline, they don't ask for my credit card or checking account number. The only thing they know is my phone number, which I used to call. Does anybody know how that works?

You give them your card number they key in everything into
machine,and you pay allowed amount over the phone ,it will
cost you more that way cuz it cost them more.
