I gotta say "no."

Santana is obviously the boss, but I think you have to give up too much in return - Uggla was a fluke last year. Sanchez is money on the BA and Swisher is going to break-out.

Just say "no."

2 time cy young and an old rook for a DRay (great arm but still a DRay) a guy who's about to lose his job and a good young OF bat(does Swisher still have 1B eligibility?--not that it matters).

When I first read this I thought you were asking about giving up Kazmir, Sanchez, Swisher AND Uggla for Santana and wondered why you hadn't jumped on it. The only two players there worth much are Santana-way out in front-and Kazmir, with Uggla a distant third. Sanchez is dogging his way to AAA and Swisher is a two stat guy who (A) lost a lot of protection with Frank Thomas going to Toronto and (B) is eligible at the easiest position(s) to fill.

In the words of Steve Miller - go on take the money and run.
There is no debate about Johan. As for Ugg, he may not do as well as last year, could be better or close. Which still may be better than Sanchez, while he hits for average he scores in fewer fantasy categories. Don't expect Freddy to hit .344 this year, probably more like .305-.310 with 180 hits. As for Swisher.. god help the guy who owns him, he is Adam Dunn against RHP - 23 more K's than hits and has no power against LHP. Kazmir has an upside but still hasn't pitched 200 innings in a year, his third year numbers look like he is improving but he did pitch 40 fewer innings. Cutting his walks in half lowered his WHIP significantly by his BAA only went down .008 and HR's to Innings Pitched went up.

I would take the trade and the solid performers.

my rule in trades is to get the best player among those who are included in the trade. since you are getting santana,go for it.
