It is a television drama supposed to be interesting not totally realistic. Like most people I have been in a hospital and not very much of it was action and drama, it is mostly sat around being bored. If you wanted to watch bored people in a place thay dont want to be you would watch big brother.
certainly abseiling on harry hill was funny though i think that is going a bit too far and very unrealistic although you do hear about the amount of silly accidents that put people in hospital.

They do their research but you have to squash it all into 1 programme.
Same as the Bill they solve it all in 1 programme crime, arrest, invesitgation etc etc.
It is TV sadly some people belive its true life.

I think that casualy would be more true to life if in one episode someone had a routine pregnancy and gave birth to a completely healthy baby, some of the storylines are too farfetched.

You show me a hospital in the UK where they always have beds for the patients (as opposed to a trolley) and you get seen that quick! No, I don't think that side of it is realistic but the treatments and various ailments are.
