Ever since I lost my virginity at age 22, I'm bigger now and can fit a tampon up there, my first one was super ultra(before losing virginity I couldn't wear a tampon),

So I got the big part all the way in except the small part with the string at the end, when I try pushing that in all the way it hurts.

Suggestions? Does it need to go all the way in so the string is not visible?

The string should be visible... There are instructions in the box... check them...

where the finger grips are is where you insert till...then push the other part (applicator) in until it goes in as far as it can (some will go in all the way, others will not...you'll know when it stops though) and pull the whole cardboard/plastic half out of your body... this will leave the string on the outside of your body so that you can pull it out later when it's time to change it (don't leave it in more than 8 hours).

They have various absorbencies ... you would not need the "super ultra" unless it's really heavy. I think for most people, regular absorbency is fine... Don't over do it and make sure there is enough blood to warrant the use of a tampon otherwise you could risk getting TSS (toxic shock syndrome) which can be really bad.

Okay 1st could you not use a tampon before because it was uncomfortable or because you we're still a virgin? Because using a tampon doesn't take your virginity.

2nd The string is suppose to show otherwise it would be too difficult to take out.

3rd Congrats on waiting til you we're 22. Most girls don't make it past 14.

Its not about getting whole string in. Its about tampon being inside of you and fit in comfortable. Even small size of tampon shouldnt make feel uncomfortable. Maybe its how you insert it and in what position. I say make sure you lay down on your back and lift your legs bending your kneez. That is the way you have to insert it and that is the same way it is explained in instructions that are mandatory to be included in each tampon box. Oh and string is suppose to hang so you can use it once you ready to take a tampon out. Usually my problem is to take them out, it hurts actually pretty bad, so what i do is relax and i mean relax period. Make sure you do the same if you having difficulties. GOod luck!

It does need to go all the way in, yes.The tampon you're using sounds too big for your body and your menstrual flow.
Tampons are very uncomfortable worn the way you describe--they pinch when you sit down, etc. Try using a smaller sized tampon and combine it with a thin minipad. Then you can be comfortable and be sure you won't have any leaks onto your clothes.
Good luck.

Try using a regular sized tampon. You need the string visible so you can take it out. Put it in far enough to where when you stand up you cant tell you have one in. if it is uncomfortable, it is in wrong. hope this helps!

the cotton part needs to be completely in or else it will be painful. the string has to be out. i'd drop to a lower absorbancy/smaller tampon at first... no need to bring out the big guns right away. i'd try a regular or light... some brands even make "slender" regular ones that are smaller. you have to relax your pelvic muscles to get it up there. it'll be easiest if you're sitting or even laying on the ground. if you don't relax that baby won't go anywhere.

The string should be visible, just make sure the cotton part is up there. You need the string to remove it.. ;-)
