You can only travel south till you get to the south pole, then you're heading north again. Since NY is not near the north pole..this question is not really answerable as there are only 180 degrees of latitude total.

These are not "magnetic" though...just degrees of latitude. Perhaps it's an azimuth? Link below for you...
