No it doesn't matter.Carry on enjoying yourself. There are no guarantees in life or death.Life and the meaning of it(if there is one)will remain the biggest inexplicable mystery for man.Don't get confused. It may be that you are beginning to question your own mortality. I know i am as i get older yet i feel my life has yet to begin. There are always more questions than answers.Trust your own judgements and intuitions and carry on living the good life you are already having.

If you are a science man i suppose that the purpose of life is to just generally enjoy yourself because when you're gone, that's the end so the main purpose is to just live life to the full.
The Christians would of course suggest that this life is the test and instead of enjoying yourself you should be out there helping others because the next life is the best.
In my opinion you sound like you're living a good life and i think the purpose of life is to have fun and to look after family etc
And to answer your other question yes i am totally confused as to what to think but i guess when we die we'll find out (or not)

I think everybody is confused as nobody knows why we are here.
whether anybody has a successful life or is a failure, does it really make any difference to mankind. The only thing we know about death is we are going to die, but "when" nobody knows until it happens to them. .
But what then happens. Is there life after death? Nobody has ever come back to enlighten us about that either . Religions claim to know the answer but they all seem to disagree (e.g. Islam says it is right to slay infidels and you will go to Heaven like if you blow yourself up and kill everybody near you, Christianity says if you commit sin, and murder is a "sin" you would go to Hell, were it not for Jesus having died for all our sins) and frankly both contentions seem to me to be flawed? What is the point of it all. Yes I am utterly confused too, everything seems so irrational and pointless and I do not think anybody on Yahoo answers is able to change that?.

How do we really know anything?
If we know that we have a higher calling, how do we know that?
If we know that we are here simply to enjoy ourselves, how do we know that?
What is our basis for doing or believing anything?
Why should we believe anything at all?
Why should we do anything at all?
The question should not be "What?" but "How?"
When we answer the "How?" the "What?" will take care of itself.
How can we know what our purpose is?
Do we even have a purpose?
The only decisive existence is that of your own consciousness. And it is your own consciousness that will tell you anything. That's the "how?" It's through your consciousness that you will know anything.
As for the "what?" then ask your consciousness. Your consciousness is the gateway to all the secrets that you ever need to know. It is a window unto everything. Every possible thing.

Your purpose in this life is to become the best person you possibly can be.to rid yourself of negative traits, be kind and help others. If you are enjoying yourself and not hurting anyone else then you sound like youre on the right path, and have earned your good life, from doing right in a previous life.

I wish I knew. It might not just be one thing. You seem to be on the right track though with your family life. Maybe the purpose of life is just to enjoy yourself, try to experience new things, and build a happy life for you and your loved ones.

I too wonder what it's all about. Maybe you should focus on the fact that you ARE enjoying yourself because the questions on this site show just how many people aren't. I hope the rest of your life brings you more enjoyment.

I don't really think life has a purpose, but I'm not depressed or anything. You said it yourself, you've got a family and a great life, isn't that great?

The only thing you need concern yourself with is that the time you were born is the time you started to die.
The only thing I want to do is not to out live my children and their family,it just seems wrong if that were to happen.
