I put the dyed easter eggs in and also plastic eggs filled with jelly beans. I also hide little chocolate eggs around the house and put a few in each basket. A chocolate bunny of course it traditional and I try and put a cute stuffed animal like a lamb or duck or something else springy in. Flower seeds are also a good idea, because then the kids can plant them once the weather is warm enough. Sidewalk chalk is also good.

I have never given my daughter candy in her basket.
I always get her a really cool basket that she can later reuse toi put stuff insuch as stuffed animals, etc. When she was younger I would out a barbie, brazt doll, etc with chalk, jumpropes, puzzles, etc.
As she has gotten older I would put in a bathingsuit/towel and summer toys.
Last year I made a craft basket because she likes to draw and sketch.
This year I am putting in gift cards for itunes, the mall, etc.
I always though put in a stuffed animal bunny. It's a tradition. She has a whole basket of unique bunnies.
She just asked me if I will still do them when she is older!

Which gender? My son loves to get cool school/stationary supplies in Easter Baskets, Christmas Stockings, etc... Like mechanical pencils, specialty pens, small dry erase board with markers, small bulletin board with designer/specialty tacks, sports team folder, etc...
For her, special designer washcloth, towel, bath supplies, or a makeup basket.
Basket full of clothing from their favorite line....
Just be creative, you know what your kids like, let that be the springboard for creativity.
Older kid, hunting/fishing/sports supply basket. Paint ball supply basket, etc...
Have fun!! Happy Easter!!!

Love to do coupon books...or homemade tickets to places or to do things like cook dinner one night. My favorite of my kids is when they get a coupon that gives them a private date night with me. I am a single mom so its hard sometimes to get private time with each of them. So I give them coupons for dates, cooking lessons, craft time(daughter), game time, basketball time...you get the idea. You can cater the coupons towards whatever your child is interested in. Put one coupon in each egg with a few jelly beans or chocolate eggs. have fun!!!
