That is easy, and I have been through a lot of scary things: tornados, hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, car accidents, assaults...
It was being in the eye of a Cat 5 cyclone in the S. Pacific. It is the only time in my life I really was convinced I was going to die.

the scariest thing that happened to me...well i,m old now but when " the thing " first came out in the theaters it was a very scary movie for someone young, like i was back then, anyway i walked home with a friend and left him at his house, the alley was a straight shot to my house. i started walking, then running slow then faster...then as i was about half way there a sound came from my left, it was so loud that i didn't recognize it, i did the last hundred yards in two seconds flat...finally as i caught my breath and came to my senses that i knew that the sound was that of three dogs that had the use of a garage for a dog house, scared the living ---- out of me, and to this day i don't like or see any horror movies. that is my story and i'm sticking to it.

I was up very late watching old horror shows. I don't remember if it was Twilight Zone or Outer Limits, but I do remember it was the Talking Tina episode. I've always HATED dolls. Unfortunate for my mother as she always wanted a 'girly-girl' and none of us turned out that way.
Anyways, I was a little creeped out and when a teenage girl is creeped out, what does she do? That's right. Head straight for the pantry for a snack so she doesn't look like a coward in front of her siblings.
I open our rather large pantry and peer inside just to hear this strange "whaaa" in a low, deep voice right behind my shoulder. I whirled around, screaming full volume, and landed a beautiful right uppercut to my sister's diaphragm quickly followed by a knee-jab as she went down. Apparently she just wanted to know what I was getting to eat.
As I'm trying to pick her up off the floor and making sure she can breathe, my mother BURSTS out of her room yelling at the top of her lungs "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN HERE???". This, of course, startled us again, and I screamed and grabbed my sister while she laid on the ground, gasping for air. Mom was not amused when I realized it was just her and started laughing while trying to explain why we were all so jumpy.
Silly, I know, but no one in my family has ever snuck up on me again.
