Hey guys
Any MMORPG players around? This phenomenon has passed me by til just lately. Now it seems to be everywhere I turn. There's a Warcraft store in our city centre and I never knew what it was for. Can anyone tell me what it's like? Is it as addictive as people say? And why do you play it exactly?

Hey allison b. I'm sure whatever you just said was informative/brilliant/tragic (or whatever it was meant to be) but I have no idea what you're going on about...

I Played the MMO World of Warcraft for about 1.5 - 2 years. It is extremely addictive and very time consuming if you get into it, or any other for that matter. (My sister used to play everquest religiously, and now she plays WOW.) It is a crazy thing these games are, if you aren't careful they can swallow your life, you have to be careful. Thankfully I just quit and un-installed WOW from my computer, and life hasn't been better.
I played cause my friends were into it, and you can make your own person and do things that you could never do IRL (in real life). It's fun to go around and slay monsters and do epic quests with many other players who are all in the world at the same time. You try to get better and show everyone how good you are, with skill and gear; to be the best you need to spend a lot of time, and this is where people get sucked in.

a MMORPG(Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Game) is basically a Role Playing Game. The player creates a character, and through the course of the game that character's abilities and attributes are enhanced(this is called leveling up) The difference between standard rpg's and mmo's is that in a standard offline rpg, the player's character is often the main hero of the story. Whereas, in an mmo, the player's character is but one of many adventurers and the individual character has little or no importance to the outcome of the game. Also, standard rpg's are story driven, with the main character being an essential part of that story. There is very little in the way of a single cohesive story or plot in the average mmorpg.

MMORPG Stands for Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. World of Warcraft is the most famous and yes...most addictive, have you seen the news about those Chinese people who spend 12 hours playing the game on black market?

Hi If u wanna try out an mmorpg game. then i would advise playing a game like hero online which is free to reg & play. to see if u like that genre. While WOW (world of warcraft) is quite different then hero, it is pretty much the same genre.
I have heard that WOW is very addictive, I have not played it bc i refuse to play the monthly fee.
If you are interested in hero online you can download it at: www.hero.netgame.com.
Enjoy

World of Warcraft (W.O.W) amazing game, good graphics, good contents kind people. If you like games which have good graphics and good stuff then world of warcraft should be the first on your list BUT its is really expensive=9.99 or something like that per month
