My gf is an art history major and I wanted to get a magazine subscription mailed to her house. Is there an art history magazine?

Yes.
The BBC do both a History Magazine, and an Art History magazine.
They're both very good, and highly recommended.

It looks like these cover a range of art, as well as other subjects, but that the art they cover is generally contemporary.

They have a bunch of books on Art History, although many are over $100, so it depends on how much you're looking to spend right now.
