Copy the files/folders you want from the source library to a CD so they can then be copied to the target computer. Then use the target computer's iTunes software to add files/folders to the target library.

just plug in your friends ipod into your usb port. Then it should ask if you want to convert your library to a new ipod (or something like that) If your friend wants all your songs say yes. If your friend only wants a few click no and when the ipod shows up uncheck the box that says sync ipod to library then just manually add the songs.

The best way, is to download a free program called "iDump".
It will extract to your computer, but just drag the '.exe' file into your iPods main folder (Root Directory). From there you can now click on it and use it to upload your entire iPod into your friends PC. Its very simple for you and them to use. You can even copy the exe into your Friends iPod for them to use.
As it works independent of iTunes, you can then choose which music to keep and what to delete or just store. You will have to associate the iDump folder with iTunes from the "file" menu to import everything, or drag the individual music folders into your iTunes folder to select just some of the music.

You can't. Apple are very concerned about piracy and don't want to be accused of distributing it. If your pal attaches his/her ipod to your computer it will delete all his/her tunes on the ipod and will de-register your ipod with itunes, so beware. The only way round it is to burn a playlist onto a DVD then pass the tunes on that way.

you can set up a playlist from your itunes which would let you upload songs from your library to their ipod, i have done this with my wifes nano and it works well. if your friend has their own itunes library (i presume they have) then you can either burn a playlist of the music they want to cd and import it to their library or, using a bit of software called 'ipodrip' on your friends pc, you can copy everything on your pod to their pc (it usually gets copied straight to My Music file) and paste it all to itunes.
Simple!... i hope!
