My dad works at Dayton this weekend. I live and hour and a half away from Dayton. He wants us to come over and stay in the hotel with him tonight, but it is snowing really hard right now. Should we risk driving in bad weather or should we not? I really want to see him.

Can you drive well in the snow?

If you got delayed between home and the motel and didn't get to see him, but had to stay the night someplace else, would it cause problems?

When will you see him next, if not this time?

Make a checklist of such questions, quickly, answer them quickly, and if you get enough of the right answers to merit the trip, go for it.... just be careful.

You should definitely take the risk. A person who is too afraid to take a risk is like a fish swimming around without a protective mucus covering.

It's just not feasible

why would you post a silly question?
Flip a coin because that's the kind of answers you're going to get here. 50% yes 50% no.

Not trying to be rude but if you really want to see your dad then go see him. He should be able to tell you if it is really safe to travel or not. right?
He wouldn't put you in harms way.
Also check the weather stations for driving conditions. chains etc.

good luck

What kind of car do you drive, and are you experienced at winter driving? If you have a heavy all wheel drive vehicle and you know how to drive in the snow I 'd say you'll be fine.

Call your local tv station and ask to speak to a meteorologist. Explain your situation and tell her where you're going. She would be the best judge on if whether or not you should go.
