One day I was driving in my car with a buddy just relaxing and listening to music. All of a sudden, I just exclaimed, "Oh my god!" and I seemed to automatically, without conscious effort, switch to AM, and then used the manual radio tuning dial. The next voice I heard was my mother's: she had called into a talk radio station.
Now, while I knew she had done this sometimes late at night, I never knew she ever did it during the day, nor did she do it frequently. If you had asked me the radio station number or name, I wouldn't have been able to tell you, but somehow, while driving, and keeping my eyes on the road, I managed to tune it in like it was the only station available.
Is there some mundane, logical explanation to this, or is it paranormal? If so, how would you describe it?

I believe that when your close with someone you can "feel" when there going to Do something. kinda sorta... see one time I was in math class and all of a sudden the name "Colin Powell" just popped into my head and I just randomly started thinking about him. Then about a minute later my best friend Cody jumped in front of me and said "Colin Powell!" He's a pretty weird kid and just kinda does random pointless stuff sometimes. But the coincidence that he would yell Colin Powell just as I was thinking about it was pretty weird. See i think he was just thinking about something random to say to me and the thought just kinda got into my mind somehow. It was the most random thing but it was unique. I think when you are really personally close to someone you can communicate or come into contact with them somehow. just an idea... So I wouldn't necessarily call it supernatural or paranormal, id just call it a transferring brain or mind wave. or something... I dont know but hope that helps!

Either is possible. Don't go thinking it is paranormal just yeat. Wait to see if you get more experiences like this. A M stations have the talk shows, so it would not be that uncommon for you to find the one she is on, and she may call in to many shows on many stations. Sounds like Grandma spends here waking time calling in to shows.
However it is also possible you and grandma has a spiritual connection to each other and you may get signals of when she is thinking about you even if the thought is while waiting to talk on a talk show, but see if you have other experiences first.

The word paranormal doesn't really fit, but this is the so-called "parent/child" link in which the mother or child can almost... feel that one or the other will do something. Some mother claim that when their child was just hurt, they will get some strange intuition. Its obvious that this is not normal, but it is a remarkable phenomena that is beyond the normal plane of thought. That's pretty cool. You and your mother must be pretty tight.

This is the old logical fallacy of "post hoc, ergo propter hoc" (after this, therefore because of this). Millions of events happen every day, so it's not surprising there are coincidences - but you only remember the coincidences because they seem remarkable. It would be more remarkable if there were *no* coincidences like this one.

Paranormal is just a word for things we don't understand, unless somebody understands how this happened, I guess it must be paranormal.

I think you would have to catagorize this under the "mother/child link'' being that it was your mother doing the calling. Paranormal for sure but not uncommon enough to be dismissed.

Don't know what's causing it, but it's a pretty neat story to tell! Ask you mom whether she had any thoughts about you around that time.

it's a freaky mother/child thing. i hear my mother's voice calling me when she's thinking about me. i'll call her, and she'll say "i was just about to call you".
