When my mother was pregnant with me my aunt told her about a wifes tail that says if you have darker nipples then you will have a boy and if they are lighter then it is a girl. I was woundering if anyone that has been pregnant has looked and noticed if this was true or not?? I am 19 weeks pregnant and just trying to guess what I am going to end up having and so I thought I would have some fun with it. Also any other wifes tails you have heard that are fun or worked for you I would love to hear thanks.

The babies heartbeat is 150 and I am only 4'8 so I think I may carrie all out front for both since there is not room other then out front for them to go LOL.

i haven't personally heard of that one coming true...it is fun to see,though! you should look them up on yahoo and try a few and write down the results, then when you get your 20 week scan, see what you;re having! good luck!

He he, I'd never heard that one!! There are so many old wive's tales out there, but you can't trust them!!
When I got pregnant with my first (boy) my nipples and aureola got slightly darker, but not very much, yet with my second (girl, due in April), my nipples have grown a lot and got much darker, so with me it was more the other way around!!
If you want to have some fun, though, try the trick with a pendant on a string:
First, get someone to hold it over your head and ask you a simple question that they DO NOT know the answer to (i.e: Did you do the washing up today?) You answer yes or no and watch which way the pendant swings.
Then hold the pendant over your belly and ask "Is the baby a boy (or girl, as you please)?" and the pendant will swing a certain way. Compare the direction to your previous yes or no answer.
It got it right both times with me, and both times with my mum!!

My nipples got darker with all three of my pregnancies..the first 2 was 1 girl and 1 boy...and dont know sex of this one yet so i would say it is very inaccurate. I slightley believe the one if the babys heartrate is under 140 its a boy above 140 its a girl...there is if u are carrying low its a boy and high its a girl *worked for me both times*...good luck and have fun! u can tell by now on u/s..

I heard that if the prenatal weight is all in the front, it's a boy. If it shows from the sides, it's a girl. I gained 23 lbs and had a birth weight of 6 lb 14oz. I didn't look pregnant from my back angle right up to full term. It sure was a nice surprise when my son was born.
I still don't believe in old wives tales.

This one I have never heard it.
1) I have heard that if you get a dark line on your belly its a girl.
2) The faster the heart beat is, it will be a girl. Boys tend to be more lazy.
3) If you carry all in the front its a boy.
4) If you get more beautiful its a sign that its a boy.
5) If you crave salt its a girl, sweets its a boy.
Can't remeber any more.

I have never heard of that one, so I don't know. Many people swear by the wives tale that a baby's heart rate can determine their sex. If the heart rate is slower it is a girl and faster than it is a boy. I think the range is something like:
140-160 girl 160-180 boy
I just found out that my husband and I are having a girl- I am 27 weeks pregnant. Her heart rate has never been above 160. So, maybe it is true- unless she comes out and really is a boy!

I have heard that one, but it didn't work for me. Darker nipples here and had a girl..lol. Another one is if you have heartburn you'll have a baby with a head full of hair. That one worked for me, had massive heartburn with all 3 and all 3 looked like they had wigs on when they were born. My son has his first haircut at age 3 months. Another one that worked for me was taking their bottle by the signs of the moon. Worked like magic with my 3. Took me forever to get the information from my aunt, but it worked. Took my son's bottle on the appointed day at midnight and set his sippy cup in the refrigerator where the bottles use to set. Next morning he got his sippy cup and there was never a mention of a bottle after that. Same with both my girls.

i dont believe any of those old wifes tail thingys there all crap to me LOL but i can tell you that me and my two sisters all had dark nipples and my two sisters all had boys and i am having a girl and my nipples look just like theres did. i guess you would just have to waite a couple more weeks to find out the babys sex

Well I had two girls, my nipples are normally light pink, but during the time I was pregnant they turned dark brown, they then turned back to pin soon after, Take a penil tie a string around the eraser, hold the sting above your belly, if it spins in circles its a girl, back and forth boy good luck, worked for me

Here's another old wifes tail.
When your not sure if your going to have a boy or girl when pregant, look at ;your stomach, if your stomach is round, your going to have a girl, if its pointy or has a little bump on the end of ur stomach, its a boy :)
