nWo vs WCW. This is the feud that put wrestling back on the map. It is also the one that almost put Vince out of business. It had all the major players of wrestling in it, from Hogan, Nash, and Hall to Sting, Luger, and Bret Hart. Without it, Vince does not change the way wrestling is done and the public never gets to see Austin/McMahon or DX. Even Russo and Ferrera (the writers for WWE during the hay day of 1998-2000) admitted that the nWo angle changed the way they did business and wrote television.
The reason it does not get any credit now a days is because it was 10 years ago and the most of the current wrestling fans did not see it and it was associated with WCW which Vince has convinced fans that WCW was the sorriest company in history. But for anyone who followed wrestling back then and watched its formation and all the Nitro programs from May 1996 until December 1997, they will tell you it was the biggest and greatest wrestling feud ever.
