Yah, My cat used to when she was younger , but we taught her not to by shutting the bathroom door so that she can't get in there to drink out of it.

Mine thinks it's a swimming pool. They splash around in there and have a ball. I figure they must drink from it also.

Lol I don't have a cat so I couldn't say. One of my dogs is so small and uncoordinated, he'd probably fall in before he drank anything.

heck no! You can get a little pet fountain. We got ours at Petsmart for like 50 dollars, but they have them on Amazon for less than that! Kitty loves it!!
