allright. he should be in at least a 15 gallontank, with lots of climbing areas. his temp should be 75-80F during the day, 85-90 in the basking area, and 65-75F at night. to get these temperatures buy a reptile thermometer for both sides of your tank. alos buy an infarred heat lamp for day and night, a day/basking lamp for the day, and a uvb/uva bulb for 12 hours a day. the UVB is a must!! they also have to be replaced every six months, cause they will stop emmitting those rays. DO NO use heat rocks and hot caves, as they are incredibly unreliable and can cause major burns. use some coconut fiber mixed with reptile mulch for the bottom of the tank. keep the humidity for 60-70% . make sure to clean up any waiste droppings right when you see them, provide fresh water daily and also mist at least 2-4 times a day. feed them small crickets with some calcium or vitamin supplament sprinkled on them. only feed what they will eat in one sitting. this is vital, they can become dehyrdrated if they eat to much. ps. anoles do not drink standing water, so misting is a must!! i wish yo the best. the black spots are from lack of nutrition, uva/uvb rays, and stress.

What is his habitat like? Is the temperature warm enough? Are you providing UV lighting? Google "Green anole care sheet" to make sure you are doing everything right. The proper care is necessary for survival.

it could be just the pattern around his eyes
my green anole has a 29 gallon thank and i mist daily and i have one light for heat and basking and we shut the light off at night we have plants (artificial) plants that we bought from a dollar store in side her tank from one tend to another and yes they will drink out of the dish. i have seen ours stick to the side of the dish and drink. she also drinks off the glass and plantsbeware of the crickets they're sneaky. i've had to catch crickets for weeks... i am still finding them. i have a litttle rock for my crickets where they say to dust them. well i don't have any dust i have cricket calcium food and water, and i let them run around her tank so she can eat when ever she wants on the floor of my tank i have potting soil try to get just the soil no little white balls those can be bad for their health, and moss on top with little glass stone rock jewel the ones that are used in fish tanks or bought in a bag at walmart or something , i use this for the humidity in the tank with the heat lamp and misting. i always mist atleast 2 a day i like it when it draws the crickets out. plus some things to climb on i have branches and when she crawls on the sticks she changes color (emerald green, brown, lime green bright green, brick red, even a teal colour, i wish i could get more but they only have brown anoles here in truro. around my anole's eyes are circles of blue like a mimi blue all around her eyesshe also likes tho bath in sun on the glass or on the ground. is your anole eating or drinking at all if not he may be stressed or maybe needs more food or a different type of food. Lizzie seems very happy with me and i didn't go to extremes she only costed me like 50 so far.

that's extremely probably to be sick. anoles advance black eye spots whilst they are too chilly, sick, or risky. mine died quickly once you have eyespots. please make confident the cage is dry, nutrition is sparkling, and warmth is suited for him. evaluate going to the vet.
