Nothing in life is FREE! Inexpensive ways to build a music library around a iPod would be to burn/rip music CDs that you already own. Another is to purchase songs/albums through the iTunes Store.

Sure you can use limewire, but some songs have a tracking device hidden within the file, so when you download a song you can be fined big time. I believe yahoo music has a one month fee and it's unlimited download, or you can use iTunes.

Emusic has 25 free downloads when you sign up for a 14 day trial. You have to have a credit/debit card to sign up. Yahoo music isn't compatible with iPod, I wish it was! You can also transfer CD's to your iPod.

there's a lot of propaganda on here about illegally downloading music. they're just mp3's. they said the same thing about using cassettes to record from the radio and videotapes recording from the TV, yet nobody seems to remember it.
