If you don't mind not having a real beach and can live with it, I highly recommend Adventura. Love it, love it, looooove it. They treat you like kings. It's all adults all inclusive paradise. The food is wonderful, night life is fun and the free tours are outstanding. You don't have to tip but many people do because the service is outstanding. Drivers $1 a bag, bellhops $1 a bag, $1 for drinks, $2 daily house keeping, $1 - $2 for nightly turn down service, $1 per meal for room service, $2 per person at meals, $5 - $10 for tour guide and driver and $10 - $20 depending on Spa Services. We have been there 3 times. We have joined the Palace Resorts Club. We are going to try the Xpu - Ha Palace in 2 weeks! Check out their web site www.palaceresorts.com and you can see photos, virtual tours of the resorts, see what kind of free "pass ports" tours are being offered from your resort, etc. You can do as little or as much as you like. Oh yeah, the rooms are great and the beds may seems rock hard at first but after a couple days you'll enjoy them too. The North side of the resort is the "Spa" and is a lot quieter at night. The south side has the nightlife and a bit more of the party crowd. If you do any tours, space them out with a day of rest between them. They leave early and last the whole day. They get you back in time for dinner.Have a great time.

I do not know the Adventure Spa Resort. On the other hand, all the hotels look so similar and the location is such that you could be anyplace in the World - including Miami Beach. I'd look for accommodations further to the South on the Mayan Riviera which should be a more authentic and pleasurable vacation.

nice adults only resort...BUT:no beach what so ever and not even close to cancun.the resort is located in puerto aventuras which is about 1.5 hours south of cancun.it will take you about 20-25 min to playa del carmen.do yourself a favor and stroll down 5th avenue there.lots of nice restaurants/shops/bars.puerto aventuras itself is more a mariner and very quiet.nice to look at for a day but that's it.
for me the beach in the area is one of the main attractions....so i would not like to stay at the aventuras....but that's me.
please excuse my english....i'm german.
if you have any more questions about the area do not hesitate to send me an e-mail or a message.
greetings from playa del carmen,
cancundivers
