i have a plant which i think is called imbricata rodea can you help?

The Royal Horticultural Society A to Z of garden plants don't list your description but do list 'Imperata' which might be yours. It originates from Japan and it's horticultural name is 'gramineae poaceae'. It is a hardy plant which thrives in moist soil, I hope this is of some help.
